Cookie Policy for GeoLens
1. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files stored in your browser when you visit a website. They are used to remember your preferences, keep you logged in, and understand how you use a site. Cookies are a standard web technology — virtually every website you use employs them in some form.
Under EU law (ePrivacy Directive and GDPR), websites that use non-essential cookies must obtain your consent before setting them. GeoLens uses only a minimal number of cookies, described below.
2. Cookies GeoLens Uses
GeoLens uses only two cookies. Neither of them is used for advertising or cross-site tracking.
| Cookie Name | Purpose | Type | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
polsia_vid |
Anonymous analytics session identifier. Helps us understand aggregate page traffic patterns (e.g., how many visitors reach the audit form, what percentage complete a report). This ID is random and cannot be linked to you personally. | Analytics | 12 months |
geolens_report_session |
Maintains your active session on the report page. Ensures you remain on the page while your audit is loading. No personal data is stored — only a session token. | Session | Session only (deleted when browser closes) |
Both of these are first-party cookies — set by GeoLens itself, not by a third-party advertising or tracking network. GeoLens does not use any third-party tracking pixels, Facebook Pixel, Google Analytics, or equivalent.
3. Managing Your Cookie Preferences
Because GeoLens uses only session and anonymous analytics cookies — neither of which involves personal data profiling or third-party tracking — no cookie consent banner is required under EU ePrivacy law.
However, if you prefer to browse without cookies, you can:
- Enable private/incognito mode in your browser — cookies set during private browsing are deleted when you close the private window.
- Use browser extensions that block all cookies — note that this may cause some websites to function incorrectly.
- Configure your browser to block all third-party cookies (GeoLens uses no third-party cookies, so this will have no effect on GeoLens).
To delete a specific cookie set by GeoLens, you can open your browser's developer console and run: document.cookie = "polsia_vid=; expires=Thu, 01 Jan 1970 00:00:00 UTC; path=/;"
4. Third-Party Cookies
GeoLens does not use any third-party cookies.
The only external services GeoLens uses are Stripe (for payments) and AI analysis providers. Neither of these services sets cookies on your GeoLens session through our domain. When you are redirected to Stripe's checkout page, Stripe may set its own cookies — these are governed by Stripe's own cookie and privacy policies, not by this document.
We will update this policy if we introduce any third-party services that set cookies on our domain.
5. Policy Updates
If GeoLens changes its cookie usage, we will update the effective date at the top of this page and revise this policy accordingly. Check back periodically, especially before making a purchase.
